I suppose this is the product of a society that encourages dropping out of school at age ten.

Ideally speaking, according to Pokemon mythology, Kyogre has the power to violate the Law of Conservation of Mass. Because, in time immemorial, Kyogre formed the oceans by creating thunderstorms with massive downpours. "Formed the oceans by creating thunderstorms." Assuming that the oceans didn't exist before that point, that means that Kyogre essentially created water from nothing. Nintendo logic!

Addendum: After debating it with my older brother, we came up with the theory that Kyogre used the water from its own body to create the rainclouds, thus expanding the ocean with its seemingly endless bodily... fluids...
Ew. That sounded less gross in my head.

It's very funny and really like how you make the background bland in well. However on the very last picture it looks like that the guy is crying with 1 eye open. Other then that really like the ending, nice thinking.

Well, if you wanna be truly scientific about it... Take water out of sea, wipe out infrastructure, erode land, sea level rises dramatically and Hoenn as an island no longer exists.

Wouldn't he need Groudon's power for that?

... also, Pokemon doesn't take place on Earth per-se... does it even have polar ice caps like we do?

Pokemon takes place on an alternate universe Earth. In Gen 1 there are several allusions toward the Pokemon world being Earth. Lt. Surge is referred to in game as "The Lightning American", the diaries in the Pokemon Mansion talk about finding Mew in Africa as well as referring to mew being able to give live birth, and Kanto itself is based on the real world Kanto region.

Minor nitpick: Mew was found in Guyana, which is in South America.

Also, even though Pokémon is now in an alternate universe, the region's cultures and geography are still heavily based on the real world.

No, the water cycle is that when water evaporates it turns into water vapour (clouds)
Which then makes it rain, hence a cycle.

but he still would have succeeded per se, since groudon would be able to make more land like he wanted, just not remove the ocean

I'm not really sure of the myths behind it.
But ground cannot be created only moved, he would be able to move the mountains
to create more land. Equally there would still be the same amount of water that would
have to go somewhere.
(But I'm not sure if this applies to pokemon, after all since Groudon is a God I'm sure
he can do what he likes)

yeah, honestly we are trying to add science to a game where pokemon can spout lava from their backs to make more land by cooling it, and add more water my spitting out infinite amounts.... this wont end well for science
